My Journey: Why I Started Vikalp Fitness

Turning Struggles into Strength: My Story

My Journey: Why I Started Vikalp Fitness

From an early age I was drawn to sports and fitness. My father , who was a sports enthusiast himself encouraged me to pursue my interests and I joined a Badminton Club close to my residence. Though I was overweight my goal was always remaining healthy. Post partum I started gaining weight and had no idea why I couldn’t reduce it. I tried all the possible ways to reduce weight but it further led me to get weak and depressed. So I decided that I need to get to the bottom of the idea of losing weight and remaining healthy

The Wake-Up Call: Seeing Women Struggle Firsthand

I was a lecturer and as my students grew up and started working with corporates I realised that there were people like Rishel who were suffering from issues like PCOD

This was an eye opener. I looked further into it and noticed that

Many women—especially working professionals—were stuck in a cycle of weight gain, exhaustion, and frustration.

They tried every diet plan, fitness trend, and online challenge, but nothing worked long-term. I started hearing similar concerns over and over:

  • “I barely eat, but I still gain weight!”
  • “My thyroid and PCOD make it impossible to lose weight.”
  • “I don’t have time for workouts with my job and family responsibilities.”
  • “I feel tired all the time, no matter what I do.”

The Lasting Impact

One case that left a lasting impact on me was Rishel’s journey. A hardworking corporate employee, she came to me weighing over 90 kg, struggling with PCOD, and feeling completely hopeless about her health. She had tried extreme diets, intense cardio, and medications—but nothing seemed to work.

Together, we worked on a balanced, sustainable plan that fit her busy lifestyle. We focused on:

✅ Eating a balanced, not dieting
Strength training & movement and not excessive cardio
✅ Prioritizing sleep, hydration, and stress management

And the results? She lost 21 kg, reversed many of her PCOD symptoms, and regained her confidence! She started feeling strong, energetic, and in control of her health.

That was my “aha” moment—I realized that most women don’t need another quick fix; they need a practical, science-backed approach that fits their life.

Why I Created Vikalp Fitness

Vikalp means “alternative” or “solution”, and that’s exactly what I wanted to provide—an alternative to fad diets, extreme workouts, and unsustainable approaches.

I knew from experience that one-size-fits-all plans don’t work. Every woman has unique challenges. So their weight loss journey needs to be customized.

That’s why I built Vikalp Fitness with a clear mission:

🔥 To help busy women lose weight sustainably—without extreme diets or exhausting gym routines
🔥 To educate women on hormonal health—because issues like PCOD, thyroid disorders, and menopause should not be barriers to weight loss
🔥 To create a supportive community—where women feel empowered, not judged

My Approach: Fitness Should Fit YOUR Life

I believe that weight loss shouldn’t feel like a punishment. Too often, women see fitness as something they have to “suffer through” to get results. But my philosophy is different:

No Extreme Diets – You don’t have to give up all your favorite foods
No Long Workouts – 30-40 minutes a day is enough
No Quick Fixes – Real change comes from habit-building, not shortcuts

I don’t just teach weight loss—I help women build a lifestyle they can stick to for life.

The Bigger Vision: Empowering Women for Life

For me, Vikalp Fitness is a movement. A movement that challenges toxic diet culture, that helps women understand their bodies, hormones, and metabolism, and that gives them the tools to take charge of their health.

If you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, I want you to know—it’s NOT your fault. It’s time for a different approach.
